Fulfilling a "Wild" DesireThis dream wedding was featured on the Food Network’s hit show, Behind the Bash with Giada De Laurentiis, This was a gourmet dinner for 200 wedding guests … at the zoo. The venue was a grassy hill overlooking the giraffes at the Santa Barbara Zoo and the couple wanted the food to be as unique as the location. The menu Someone’s in the Kitchen designed was as vibrant and innovative as the Asian-Indian fusion look of the event. Under a canopy of jewel-toned umbrellas and lanterns, Someone’s in the Kitchen served a meal that was perfection. The first course, a trio of small bites, was the perfect harmony of texture, style and taste. A watermelon beet soup, a duck taco and an heirloom tomato salad had guests looking forward to the next course. Someone’s in the Kitchen didn’t disappoint. In the middle of a zoo, the company went on to serve a gourmet meal followed by a dramatic fountain from which French chocolate flowed freely. Clearly, Someone’s in the Kitchen met the desire by the show and the client to create a menu as memorable as the event locale. And although the setting was “wild,” Joann Roth-Oseary and her team tamed the elements to gain complete control of every detail from start to finish. |

Gala WeddingIf wedding day rain is the precursor to a long, happy marriage, this NBA couple will be seeing each other for a lifetime to come. Amidst record rainfall, this outdoor wedding became the stuff of which a bride’s dreams are made. How, you ask…? Custom invitations studded with red Austrian crystals to announce the nuptials. Sumptuous wedding cake designed to match the handbeaded chaircovers, topped with a crystal monogram. Wondrous floral creations including 12 wrought-iron chandeliers, handstudded with clusters of red and pink roses. A gourmet tribute to the groom’s Southern roots – comfort foods gone “uptown” like sweet potato fries and garlic aioli and Maine lobster potpies. Cigar girls visiting with guests in the cocktail area-turned casino lounge. Surprise framed photo of the couple taken just minutes after they wed – Edited on site and placed in a jeweled frame, awaiting the guests as they retrieved their cars at the end of the party. |
TRANSFORMATION at its FinestThe back yard of the groom's family Malibu beachhouse became the intimate setting for their dream wedding. The small guest list called for one giant dinner table - but nothing that would detract from the glorious ocean view. An organza canopy anchored by 6 white birch trees, and adorned with fresh floral clusters, set the stage. A surf-appropriate menu of grilled swordfish and desserts of fresh berries and sorbets provided just the right light fare for a midsummer night's affair. |

Romancing the WeddingA traditional English stone mansion above a blue-green sea was the storybook setting for a Malibu wedding to remember. What better place to weave a romantic fantasy for the bridal couple and 250 friends and relatives? The naturally dramatic setting was enhanced by white satin linen and organza. . .an abundance of roses adorned in tulle. . .and exquisite white china presented on gleaming silver chargers. The food, naturally, was lavish and reflected the eclectic tastes and playful spirits of the bride and groom. From five food stations, Someone's in the Kitchen served ethnic foods like dim sum and crisp tempura as well as traditional favorites such as filet mignon and Australian lobster tails. An ice cream wedding cake served with espressos and cappucinos was the perfect conclusion. And the music was as rich and varied as the menu. During the ceremony and immediately following, string instruments created a dreamy ambiance. At dinner, a jazz combo entertained, and the evening was topped off with a high-energy rock and roll dance band. Something traditional, something new, something for lovers to remember forever, from Someone's in the Kitchen. |
