Awards

Someone's in the Kitchen has won two categories at the 2003 Special Events Magazine Gala Awards:

Best event produced for a private and individual, budget $50.000 and above

"Working with a "White Winter Wonderland" theme, Someone's in the Kitchen created a holiday party in the backyard of its client's Southern Californian home. A draped ceiling of silver crushed silk connected the house to the main canopy, where guests found themselves in a winter wonderland of white Lycra swagging, ice-blue light beams and snowflake projections."

Best Food Presentation

With "and baby makes three" as a motto for this upscale shower, Someone's in the Kitchen set out to create a menu based on trios. The summer luncheon started with a trio of chilled summer soups--gazpacho, vichyssoise and watermelon-beet soup--served in bay food jars decorated with hand-tied ribbons and crocheted flowers. After a main course of chicken-salad-stuffed artichokes, guests finished with a trio of trifles served in white chocolate baby blocks with removable lids.
